“We must take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim.
Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented.
Sometimes we must interfere.
When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy,
national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant.Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views,
Elie Wiesel, The Night Trilogy: Night, Dawn, The Accident
that place must – at that moment – become the center of the universe.”

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.“
Dr. Martin Luther King
I believe the world needs more people who advocate for those in need. I’m looking to work on building systems that encourage people to stand for what they believe in to influence others to make better and more empathic decisions. In my personal and professional development, the feedback given me is that I should lean into the drive and inclination to speak up and out for the people in my care. They mention that I embody advocacy and care about my employees.
I’ve spent over 20 years working in Software Quality Assurance, working with brands like Symantec/Norton, Shavlik and Renaissance Learning. As I’ve grown in that role, I started with advocating for customers, and then worked to advocate for my employees, and the industry as a whole. In my roles, I work with teams to deliver top quality software to those who need it. Over the years, I study leadership via a variety of personal and professional growth opportunities including the ManKind Project, martial arts, dance, Franklin Covey, etc.

“All advocacy is, at its core, an exercise in empathy.”
